Roselawn Cemetery Cannons and Cannonballs (Pueblo, Colorado)

Description:

The Civil War Cannons monument is located in the Civil War section of Pueblo's Roselawn Cemetery, at the southern edge of Block 12, near the cemetery entrance. It consists of two Civil War-era cannons, one facing southwest, the other facing southeast, mounted on cut sandstone bases on either side of a south-facing marble plaque mounted to a cut sandstone base. The marble plaque reads: "Civil War Memorial Erected in 1902 by the Women's Relief Corps, G.A.R." Attached to the plaque are two brass flags; the US flag in the upper left corner, and the Confederate Stars and Bars in the upper right corner. Attached to the bottom center of the plaque is a brass insignia reading, "Woman's Relief Corps 1863." In front of the cannons are four cannonballs. Two flagpoles flank the plaque.
