Title
Grandview Cemetery G.A.R. Soldier's Monument (Fort Collins, Colorado)
Description
Life-sized granite statue of Union soldier standing at parade rest, holding the barrel of a rifle whose butt rests on the ground next to his right foot. The soldier wears a Union overcoat, cape, and kepi hat. The statue is mounted atop a granite pedestal. A low iron railing surrounds the monument, and there are mature silver spruce trees at three of its four corners (the fourth tree was apparently removed after being damaged by a storm). The monument is located in Section S of the Grandview Cemetery.
