<dcterms:description><![CDATA[Full-length figure of a Civil War soldier atop stone structure with bronze reliefs on each side. The soldier wears a uniform and cap. The cape of his overcoat is thrown over his proper right shoulder. He holds the barrel of a rifle with both hands; the butt of the gun rests on the ground in front of him. The sculpture stands atop a multi-tiered pedestal. A small cannon barrel protrudes through an opening on each side of the tiered pedestal. The pedestal rests on a square vaulted structure containing a room for war relics. Bronze relief panels are mounted to three sides of the structure's facade; a bronze door with relief is located on the west side of the structure. The relief panel on the east side depicts two wounded soldiers, a father and son, comforting each other. The panel on the south side depicts a capless soldier crouched behind a barricade, rifle at the ready. The relief panel on the north side depicts a woman gazing upon a recent battlefield filled with remnants of the conflict including a broken wheel, a broken sword, and a bugle. The door on the west side of the structure has a relief depicting a soldier on sentry duty. The soldier is shown from behind in proper left profile]]></dcterms:description>
