    <dcterms:description><![CDATA[Grandy in Hampshire County has a monument to its Civil War soldiers, as well as two Spanish-American War veterans: a pair pf plaques listing the names of the fallen soldiers. Dedicated on Memorial Day, May 31st, 1909 and presented to the town by committee chair Elliot J. Aldrich, the plaques serve as a reminder of the dedication these soldiers had to their country. Not a lot is known about the plaques or their creation, but they still represent the strong will of the town to keep the memories of their ancestors alive.]]></dcterms:description>

    <dcterms:description><![CDATA[An iron, 6.4-inch US Navy Parrott rifled cannon.  Markings on the breech of the cannon identify it as "R.P.P. No. 331" (possibly a reference to the initials of Robert Parker Parrott, the inventor of the cannon) with a weight of 9,747 lbs.  A plaque in the cement sidewalk below the back of the cannon describes it as a "Civil War Artillery 6.4-inch (100 pounder) Navy Parrott Rifle.  Donated in 1897 by the Grand Army of the Republic."  The cannon mouth points south and pivots on a trunnion marked "1864 100 Pdr".  The cannon muzzle is engraved with the words "Water Core".

    <dcterms:description><![CDATA[ The Civil War Cannons monument is located in the Civil War section of Pueblo's Roselawn Cemetery, at the southern edge of Block 12, near the cemetery entrance.  It consists of two Civil War-era cannons, one facing southwest, the other facing southeast, mounted on cut sandstone bases on either side of a south-facing marble plaque mounted to a cut sandstone base.  The marble plaque reads: "Civil War Memorial Erected in 1902 by the Women's Relief Corps, G.A.R."  Attached to the plaque are two brass flags; the US flag in the upper left corner, and the Confederate Stars and Bars in the upper right corner.  Attached to the bottom center of the plaque is a brass insignia reading, "Woman's Relief Corps 1863."  In front of the cannons are four cannonballs.  Two flagpoles flank the plaque.]]></dcterms:description>
