    <dcterms:description><![CDATA[The Botetourt Artillery Obelisk stands a proud 27ft tall on the busy main street of Buchanan, Virginia. It commemorates not only the local Buchanan company of soldiers that was organized in 1859, but all soldiers who fought during the war, as well as Confederate women and the veterans that survived it. Erected on April 1, 1902, by the Botetourt Artillery Monument Association, the granite pillar stands atop a base that is adorned with inscriptions on all sides. Designed by artist Andrew Wray at the cost of $1100, the source of funding for the monument is not readily available.]]></dcterms:description>

    <dcterms:description><![CDATA[Life-sized granite statue of Union soldier standing at parade rest, holding the barrel of a rifle whose butt rests on the ground next to his right foot. The soldier wears a Union overcoat, cape, and kepi hat. The west-facing statue is mounted atop a granite obelisk, itself mounted on two shallow blocks of rough-hewn granite. The monument is located in front of the Boulder County Courthouse in a public park facing the Pearl Street pedestrian mall. A plaque at the eastern base of the monument marks a time capsule buried there on September 24, 1996, to be opened on September 24, 2096.]]></dcterms:description>
